Llan-vire-pooll-guin-gill-go-ger-u-queern-drob-ooll-llandus-ilio-gogo-goch

That's how to pronounce it.

There a place in Northumbria called Shilbottle, although the sign on the A1 is sometimes changed to "Shitbottle"

There's a hamlet called Besses o' th' barn, it's now part of Whitefield, Manchester

There's a Brown Willy in Cornwall

Shitterton in Dorset

Crapstone in Devon

Argleton-a town in Lancashire that doesn't actually exist!

Fingringhoe, Essex

Cockermouth, Cumbria

Pratt's Bottom, Bromley, London

North Piddle

Very lovely photos. I have not seen these lights, I can only imagine what it must feel like to view.

I love how science dedicates findings and understanding of things to as many truths as it can possible evaluate.

In the case of the northern lights it is not as romantic as the dancing spirits tale, but the truth of the matter still leads us to love the view.

Hi Andy, I have been lucky enough to see them in Scotland, in Aberdeen. Obviously they are more optimal places to go to see them, guess I was lucky enough to see them close to home =)

Hi Louise, Love the pictures and enjoyed the informative description of the aurora. I see you grew up in Scotland; were you ever lucky enough to see the lights there?
