Do you ever have a problem finding a place that allows you to use the portable hard drive? I would think that some of the internet cafes would be wary of people plugging things in to their computers.
Yes, you are very right. Some places don’t allow it, I guess in those instances I feel secure enough to use their computers to do what I need. The reason I like to choose a laptop over an internet cafe normally apart from convenience if there is wireless is because I hate the thought of what spyware and viruses can be on a computer.
That’s why I like the Portable hard drive/USB for convenience and security. Those who don’t accept these are less likely to pose a risk and in that case I have a copy of any documents I need on my email.

In Perth (subject to the weather being good) I would visit Rottnest Island. It’s a beautiful tranquil place. Almost made my list, I have found though that you can’t really spend anymore than a weekend there unless you are willing to spend quite a bit more money on things like water activities. Well worth a look and very family friendly. It was a little rainy when I went which meant the boat trip over was very rocky but even with the rain we still found things to do to fill a day. Best to go in the summer on a really nice day though as they have some amazing beaches and scenery and are famous for being the home to the quokka (looks like a mini kangaroo). It got it’s name because they look like rats (Ratnest Island)
My other suggestions if you want to stay closer to the main land is to do a river cruise with a wine tour. There is a great selection in Perth and is well worth the money to spend a day slowing cruising along the river listening about it’s history with a local wine in hand. One of my best Perth experiences.
Finally, if you want to laze around, my suggestion is cottesloe beach. I never made it there when in Perth but I have heard it’s a beach worth visiting.

The Australian west coast is pretty awesome too. Perth is beautiful. The nearby Rottnest island is amazing. Further up north, there are the Pinnacles (stunning rock formations) and Monkey Mia (where you can swim with wild dolphins).
The wine regions are also certainly worth a visit. Barossa Valley in South Australia, Yarra Valley in Victoria, and Margaret River in Western Australia.
Absolutely, like I mentioned to gabybali, I really enjoyed Rottnest island too and Margaret River is a well worth doing wine tour in WA. I agree that Monkey Mia is great but other than the dolphins the place it’s self is one big tourist complex, which I am not the biggest fan of. Great Weekend trip though.
Barossa Valley and Yarra Valley are up there too, you are correct there and I hadn’t considered the Pinnacles but a great suggestion!

Thanks for the follow! Nice! I’ve never been to Australia but I’ve always wanted to go. Ended up in England instead. When the exchange rate comes to it’s senses, maybe I will.
The beach looks crowded. I think what I like best about the beaches in Sabah, there are people there but it’s never crowded. You got plenty of space to chill out. Australia is a popular place for people from Sabah, they love vineyards tours, good food, great wine.

I would also recommend The Oasis Restaurant at Lake Travis, which is about 30 minutes northwest of downtown. It is a “touristy” spot but it is worth the trip just for the views from the patios overlooking the lake.

Hi Andy, I have been lucky enough to see them in Scotland, in Aberdeen. Obviously they are more optimal places to go to see them, guess I was lucky enough to see them close to home =)
Very lovely photos. I have not seen these lights, I can only imagine what it must feel like to view.
I love how science dedicates findings and understanding of things to as many truths as it can possible evaluate.
In the case of the northern lights it is not as romantic as the dancing spirits tale, but the truth of the matter still leads us to love the view.
